arinella´s rattery
I bought my first rat the last of August 1983, a Black Hooded buck
named Pim-Pim. Since that day I haven´t been without rats a single
minute!
Arinella´s is the name of my rattery. It was founded in 1985 when I had my first litter.
I´ve been breeding rats since 1985.
Between
12th of June 1988 and 3rd of April 2009 I was a registrated breeder in
the Swedish Rat Society - SRS, with the prefix Arinella´s.
I´m
still a member in SRS and I still breed rats, but I don´t sign up to
follow the rules and guidelines from SRS anymore. That means less
paperwork for me, and no risk for breaking rules.
My primary
breeding goal is a very calm, non-stressed, non-dominant, very reliable
temperament, caracter and behavior. Rats shall be easy to handle an be
100 % domisticated, witch means they shall like beeing held in
captivity and love humans and be very contactable to people. I like
eyecontact, so that is something I prefer on breeding animals.
In
second hand comes type and color. Type is something I breed on without
even think on it since I only breed on animals I really like, and I
dont like animals with bad type. Now and then it happens that the type
on some litters are a bit pointed, but it´s only temporary.
Graphite
My
favourite color is Graphite, a dark blue color simular to the blue
color on mice and rabbit. Often mistaken for Russian Blue. Another name is German Blue.
I belive Graphite it´s the "real" blue rat color, it means Blue Dilution, locus D, so I write the genetics for Graphite aadd.
